FAQ: The current Snell rating is SA2010, can I still use my SA2005?

Posted on 26th Aug 2011 @ 1:07 AM

This answer will vary depending on where and what races you participate in. In most cases, rules will allow for the most current and one previous Snell year rating (so in this case, SA2010 and SA2005). However, some rules will only allow the most current Snell ratings, while others will only specify that it needs to be "Snell Rated" and not specify a particular year.

SA2010 helmets have already arrived and on the market. Snell has updated their SA ratings (every 5 years) from SA2000, SA2005, SA2010, etc for auto racing. In most cases a SA2005 rated helmet will be fine until 2015 when the SA2015 is scheduled to release. On www.thehelmetman.com we have select SA2005 helmets left in all sizes with savings of $80.00 or more compared to the SA2010s. We have the BEST DEALS on the web. Please come by and check them out before they are gone!
